Palm Beach :: Hi-Lo Summer Dress + HASK Beauty

Sunday, September 17, 2017 Simone - Your Style Architect 4 Comments

Hi everyone. I hope that those of you affected by Hurricane Irma are staying strong and keeping safe. Personally, my in-laws are living close to Tampa, Florida and it was such a nail biting week where we were glued to both the TV, Skype and Phone to keep updated on the hurricane and to stay in touch with our love ones.

Thank you to all of you who have sent me messages and texts to enquire and for your prayers and support. They are both doing fine even though they have stayed in the house and not evacuated and thank god, they suffered little damage to the property. We were also lucky to have electricity and water. But it was a really tough week being so far away and feeling helpless.

So here's a post that reminded me lots of Palm Beach ( and Florida in general). I love the palm leaf / fern prints for summer items and whilst many of you are already heading into Fall fashion, here we are in the tropics with Summer all year round.

This hi-low dress from Shein.com is such a easy to wear weekend outfit. And thank god the ankle's feeling lots better so managed to style it with heels. Keeping the whole summer feel in line, I paired this look with my favourite palm leaf/ feather drop silver earrings and accessorised with nude heels and clutch for a less busy look seeing that the palm leaf prints was what I wanted to focus on.

Coincidentally, I am also trying to do a redecoration of my apartment and deciding on a British Colonial theme. So pretty much keeping my existing furniture, and just playing around moving them around the house in various positions and peppering the living room with lots of green plants all help to create this similar Palm Beach feel. Will share pictures with you once I have completed this project.

A big shout-out to my favourite people of HASK of which I only discovered their products eversince returning to Singapore. I love their range of hair care products from daily shampoo / conditioner to hair masks, oil treatments and stylers. A U.S brand formulated for different hair types and condition, all their products are free of sulphates and parabens and reasonably priced unlike most high end salon product(s).

I have noticed my hair condition significantly improve since using HASK and would not hesitate to recommend them. If you head to their website you will be able to see their popularity around the world and where to buy them at your nearest drug store / chemist.

Have fun trying out their products and I hope you enjoyed this post.

Grown Up Gingham :: Gingham Ruffle Dress + Bucket Bag

Sunday, September 10, 2017 Simone - Your Style Architect 4 Comments

Hi everyone. A quick outfit post today as I sit nervously by the TV watching the updates on Hurricane Irma pounding Florida.

As some of you know, our home is in Sarasota, Florida and my in-laws in their late 80s and early 90s are there on their own braving the storm and being so old, they have decided to weather it through and pray for the best seeing they are in Evacuation Zone C. We are certainly hoping they will be well and have been in non-stop contact with them.

Having also hurt my ankle badly this last week, it was tough hobbling around and therefore this was a quick outfit shot and as you can see, my bandaged ankle present in all it's glory in this post. Have been wearing ONLY flats for the last 2 weeks and it's not fun. I believe I had torn a ligament and the swelling is indeed taking awhile to subside.

Back to the outfit, gingham is definitely a trending hit in summer and from the recent Fashion Week highlights, we can see this trend continuing for 2018. I love this cool, lightweight summer gingham dress with its statement ruffles. Cute in a way, girly and so feminine. Looking to style it with a skirt or perhaps even pants for a different look.

Thanks for reading and sorry this was a quick post. Our thoughts and prayers are certainly for all who are affected by this massive Hurricane, not only in Florida but also in Cuba and the islands.

Summer Must Have :: Pom Pom Straw Bag

Monday, September 04, 2017 Simone - Your Style Architect 1 Comments

Hi everyone. I have been searching high and low, contemplating on various styles of straw bags for Summer and this particular style from Rosegal came out tops on my list. To be honest, it was between a straw bag or a black faux leather backpack that would carry all my essentials. Surprisingly enough - this straw pom pom bag was roomier than expected!

The straw weave is so pretty and the short rounded handle makes it easy to carry without sweeping the floor. The accents of the little pom pom is my favourite with multi coloured balls attached to both sides of the bag. I love how the added tassel is thrown in on one side for " more is more"!! The perfect accessory to compliment summer looks.

Paired this lovely bag with my wooden crochet beaded necklace with a short cute dress and slip on plimsolls for a casual weekend look.

If you like this bag, do check it out here.
