Tulle Skirts for Winter 2016

Sunday, November 27, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 3 Comments

Good weekend to all of you. Amazing how quick time passes and the weekend is almost over.

I hope you had a chance to read my last post which was a guest post from Yen of DIVA IN ME! An accomplished and very supportive fellow blogger, you must read Yen's tips on trending jackets for Winter 2016. If you have not read it yet, do click here to be inspired.

Fall and winter has always been a time when I seem to start to really cover up ( reasonably so due to the cold weather, and so often, I tend to opt for pants / jeans more than skirts). However, feeling a little girly and since the weather is only pretty cold during the early mornings and evenings yet warming up to a nice 20 degrees in the afternoons, hence I figured, I could still take on this look before it gets much colder.

Whilst online with my favourite store, I saw this lovely floral bag strap which matched perfectly with my Katie Judith peek a boo style bag. This kicked off the basis of this outfit coming together.

Always loving how denim adds that rock edge to an outfit - I decided to pair the complete opposite feel with this denim shirt with a girly tulle skirt, which is one of Fall Winter 2016 skirt trends and there you go!

As you will see from the designers who trended tulle skirts for their Fall Winter 2016 collections below, most of them highlighted the fact that tulle skirts are pretty see through - often pairing with nice bodysuits or even bloomers. Therefore, the pleat style on this skirt - another IN trend for Winter skirts mostly seen on metallic skirt styles - paired with the transparency of tulle certainly equals girly elegance.

I am sure you would have noticed this recent floral / patterned bag strap trend with major designers like Fendi, Hermes etc... so when I saw this lovely floral strap available on my favourite online store, I had to have it. Don't you think it's such a pretty accessory to have?

My lovely rescue dog Rum was obviously wondering what was going on with the photoshoot and so photobombed a couple of shots. And yes, she has started to learn how  " not to look directly at the camera" after a few " training shots". Ha ha....

My 11 yr old Cocker Spaniel - Cookie, also wanted to get in the action. So please excuse the doggie distractions. They both especially loved the twirling of the tulle skirts. Well, girls will be girls right?

My favourite Marc Jacobs ballerina flats in silver was pulled out of the wardrobe to complete this look.

GUEST POST :: 5 Must-Have Jackets for Fall ( featuring DIVA IN ME)

Friday, November 25, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Hi everyone,

As 2016 is the 4th year " Simone - Your Style Architect" has been alive in the fashion blogging world, a good blogger friend - Yen, from " Diva In Me" has accepted my invitation to guest blog to commemorate this great occasion for me. With a great sense of style and as an accomplished fashion blogger who has inspired me over and over again, I am delighted for her to guest post for me on this anniversary year. I hope you enjoy this post.

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate "Simone -  Your Style Architect" for celebrating it’s 4th year anniversary. I am very honoured to be invited by Simone to be a guest blogger here today. Let me formally introduce myself. I’m Yen, a fashion and lifestyle blogger at Diva In Me. I’ve known Simone and Your Style Architect for a few years now and we’ve been blogger-friends ever since that first comment Simone wrote on my blog.

At first, I was wondering what should I be sharing with Your Style Architect readers? Then, Simone gave me an idea. To talk about fashion! What else? Since we are both fashionistas, and it’s fall now, lets talk about fall’s fashion.

The most common thing we wear during fall is jackets and coats. In fact, I’m actually from a place with no cold weather. Period. It’s summer weather throughout the year in Malaysia. The only chance I get to wear my jackets and coats are during my travels to the western world or down south to Australia or New Zealand. So, when I invest in jackets and coats, the first thing I would ask myself is “would I be wearing this in the next 3 years?” If the answer comes back a YES, I would go ahead to buy it. Here are the 5 Must-Have Jackets for fall in my wardrobe:

1. Bomber Jacket

Jacket: Coach (some similar ones are on sale here) // Picture taken in Edinburgh
2. Shearling Jacket

Shearling Jacket: Prada (similar ones here) // Picture taken in Florence
3. Oversized Jacket

Oversized Jacket: Asos (similar ones here) // Picture taken in Paris
4. Trench Coat

Coat: Burberry (available here) // Picture taken in Stockholm
5. Faux Fur Jacket

Faux Fur Jacket: Revolve (similar here) // Picture taken in Nice
These are few of my best investments by far and I had packed them again and again when I travel. I hope my advice had helped you to pick and invest on a perfect jacket for yourself.  Are you eyeing on a particular jacket recently?

Once again, I would like to thank " Simone - Your Style Architect" for having me as a guest here on your very special occasion. Last but not least, thank you for reading my post and I hope you have enjoyed it.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Grown Up Gingham

Saturday, November 19, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 10 Comments

Hi everyone.

Another busy week, making apple sauce with my children at school and as I was wrapping the lovely jars for them to take home with gingham print cloths, I figured, hey I have had this gingham print dress in my wardrobe for awhile and since the weather still permits, sleeveless wearing, I quickly pulled it out from my closet for this weekend before the weather starts to cool down further.

A lovely ASOS dress which one can trend in Fall by throwing over a lovely leather jacket or a bomber jacket for that edgy touch.

I love the high cut top and the flare skirt which gives the dress a whole, almost 1950s vibe. Paired the high waist dress with a thick laser cut belt which  further cinches the waistline creating a slimmer figure.

A girly dress - it just made me feel like dancing in it.

For a change, paired the outfit with a nice little hat and sunnies with a pretty pair of red suede shoes.

Dress : ASOS ( similar here & here) // Belt : Warehouse ( similar here) // Hat : ZARA ( similar here & here & here) // Shoes : Zara ( similar here) // Sunnies : Cotton On.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Ready for Colder Weather?

Saturday, November 12, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Hello my dear friends!

It's the weekend again and a quick drop in mercury reading this week here in Hong Kong sets everyone pulling out their thicker jumpers, sweater, coats, boots etc....

I naturally started doing the same and as usual, often finding the trends changing year on year. So what was " IN" for last winter may not be quite " trendy" this winter. Always on the lookout for " Looks For Less", here are some trendy and cute sweaters for sale (http://www.tidestore.com/Wholesale-Sweaters-101054/) on a recently discovered online store - Tidestore.com

Taking the whole off shoulder trend into Fall/ Winter 2016, try out these styles below whilst looking sexy yet keeping you warm.

Turtle Neck Cold Shoulder Sweater

Boat Neck Solid Color Sweater
Loose Lace Up Sweater
A classic style to trend - try out this lovely V neck Stripe collegiate sweater below.

My feet are always feeling cold, therefore these cheap winter snow boots (http://www.tidestore.com/Wholesale-Snow-Boots-101118/) would be perfect for knocking around in during those colder days.

Suede Plain Bud Details Slip On Boots
Stylish Rivet Tassel Wedges Snow Boots
Always going with safe classic colours for my boots - I kinda took a liking to this suedette slip on boots in red which would look so lovely against black, grey or gingham toned outfits.

Suedette Plain Slip On Elevator Heels Women's Winter Boots
Round Plain Lace Back Knee High Heeled Boots
Not forgetting the cutest thing about this online store - they also have a wide range of menswear, shoes and accessories to start planning your Christmas shopping less the hassle of fighting with the crowds in the malls.

Have fun shopping and let me know which are your favourite items from this store?

Love,
Simone xoxo
