Ruffle Me Up : Black Cocktail Dress & Silver Accessories

Tuesday, September 30, 2014 Simone - Your Style Architect 2 Comments

Hi Everyone.

Can you believe it, another month has come and gone so quickly! Before you know it, it's the end of the year. Besides Thanksgiving ( for my US followers) and Christmas which we all are looking forward to for year end,  I know many corporate companies here in Asia are beginning to be smarter and planning their year end parties and get togethers way before Nov/ Dec, whilst people are still in town and able to attend.

It would be impossible to buy a new outfit for every event you will be invited to, so here's my spin on recycling and reinventing items you may have in your closet. I have decided to re-style this 2yr old WAREHOUSE high waisted little black dress hidden at the back of my wardrobe, and reignite new life into it for one of those many year end cocktail parties and dinners.

My favourite part about this dress is the unique side ruffles on its front - replicating a baby's bib and the high waisted tulip style skirt. The fabric is textured like wood graining. Very unusual. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the previous pictures of how I styled it the last time, but I do remember styling it with black chandelier earrings and a skinny belt instead at the waist with Black/ Gold accessories.

This time, I decided to bring out the silver in the bib necklace, hence silver accessories and sans belt.

I kept my jewelry pieces small and to a minimum thereby keeping the look classic and elegant.

2014 Statement Jewelry Pieces I Like - featuring Keada's Kloset

Sunday, September 28, 2014 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Happy Weekend Everyone.

Hope you guys enjoyed the previous post and videos on SS2015  Fashion Weeks' Best Street Styles.

Whilst researching some of these looks and inspirations, I came across an online boutique - Keada's Kloset  based in USA and specialising in statement jewelry, where many of it's pieces were very much Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez inspired.

Having been awhile since I last did a post on Statement Jewelry Pieces, I figured it's about time to highlight some of these trendy and stylish pieces of 2014 from Keada's Kloset and provide you with some inspiration on how to put them together with your outfit(s). Definitely worth paying a visit to this store to " Get The Look For Less".

This Cleopatra Necklace Set  is one of my favourites to spice up a simple outfit. In a recent 2015 New York Fashion Week Street Style look ( see above pic), one learns that even a statement piece like this could easily be paired with an equally statement dress without being too OTT.

Obviously a favourite piece of Rihanna's wardrobe, this silver Baroque Necklace  certainly will add that " rock chic" glam to your outfit. Try pairing it with more basic pieces like jeans, t-shirt and a blazer if the sporty hip hop look is not your style( see Styleboard below). Can you see in the picture above, she even trends it as an ankle bracelet???

Blazer : ASOS, Jeans : Polyvore,
Bangles : Keada's Kloset, Necklace : KeadasKloset,
Clutch : www.choies.com
Shoes : Zappos
I have always loved to trend stacking arm jewelry...heavy... YES... but fun and funky! Here are some classic inspirations from fellow bloggers and you would certainly be able to find several of these statement jewelry from Keada's Kloset as well. Such as the " Love"worded or infinity bracelet, Spike bracelet and Cuffs. Just have fun mix and matching for different outfits.

Most of us do find some form of inspiration from Kim Kardashian. So without any surprise, this next piece - the ID Necklace, from Keada's Kloset is a classic piece to own. Many hip hop artistes in particular are trending this piece for 2014. I do particularly prefer the crystal version available online rather than the plain gold or silver.

If you love rings as much as I do,  I personally have been fascinated with the stacked rings and the more popular X-Ring ( otherwise known as the criss-cross ring) which we have seen many celebrities trending in 2014. With Jessica Alba and Cameron Diaz included, trending the US$6,000 price tag ring, I am sure you will agree this look can easily be recreated with the double X ring from Keada's Kloset at a fraction of the cost.

Not into rings or necklaces? What about Ear Cuffs? Now this is one trend I have not tried but am feeling the urge to get my hands on - just for fun!

Oh my goodness, there are still so many more pieces I could pick out from this store but here's just a few to wet your appetite. Now for the fun part - Keshay Blount ( CEO and Creative Director) of Kesha's Kloset is such a sweet lady to offer all my readers a special 15% discount off* your total using the following code. Simply quote " yourstyle21" upon checkout to enjoy this treat!

Also not forgetting for all shipments with a local USA address, you will get to enjoy free domestic shipping for purchases of US$ 75 and above. International shipping is also available. Now, how good is that?

*  Terms and conditions apply. Coupon code validity till 11/30.

So go and have fun trending with your latest statement jewelry and please share with me pictures of your outfit!

Love,
Simone xoxo

2015 Fashion Weeks' Much Loved Street Styles

Friday, September 26, 2014 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Hi everyone.

As New York, London and now Milan's Fashion week comes to a close there are so many street styles I have fallen in love with and to be honest these are inspiring looks we can easily follow as opposed to those presented on the runway.

This year, we see many trending monochromatic outfits, full white ensembles, heavy play with colours and prints, tassels/fringes but also statement bags, shoes and jewelry. Certainly the girl on the street is getting more confident in expressing herself and not staying with safe choices simply because....Just having Fun With Fashion!

I hope you will be equally as inspired as I am from these gorgeous pictures and looks. So I decided to do something a little different this time to bring these pictures to life and feel the true essence of Fashion Week. Hope you like and enjoy it!

I do have to also add that many of these street styles were trending funky bag charms, particularly those from Fendi and the cutest " Karlito" charm resembling it's Creative Director - Karl Lagerfeld.

I would love to get my hands on one of these soon. Yay or Nay?

Horsing Around : Colour Block Top with Statement Necklace

Tuesday, September 23, 2014 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Hi everyone.

Fall is finally here ! So decided to throw on a jacket to what would be a typical Summer outfit for the cooler mornings. Here's my outfit for the day for a typical school run. The look today was very much a designer inspired look - from  my Gucci inspired silk crepe top to my Hermes inspired CDC cuff.

As you would have gathered by now, statement necklaces and I are like hand in glove. I enjoy styling an otherwise simple outfit with a statement piece(s) for that tailored look. Chanced upon this whimsical necklace piece which I fell in love with immediately for its quirkiness.

Being active on Instagram, I recently came across a few statement jewelry online shops which I would certainly be looking at purchasing pieces from them to add to my collection. In the words of another fashion blogger - " Pretty Arm Candy is half of your outfit". Well in my case, it's " Statement Jewelry is half of my outfit!" Anyways, here's some links for your possible consideration when you next feel that pinch to get a statement piece online.

Designed in Hong Kong : Geometric Design Crop Top & 3D Doggie Bag

Saturday, September 20, 2014 Simone - Your Style Architect 5 Comments

It's the weekend again and here's something cute for a follow up on my last post of " Fun & Quirky Bags SS 2015".

Was out shopping recently in Causeway Bay ( main shopping hub of Hong Kong) before meeting the girls for lunch and came across this cute 3D bag which is made of 100%  eco-friendly rubber material by Adamo HK. Priding themselves in unique designs, high quality and meticulous workmanship for solely 3D products created strictly in Hong Kong, I was quite amused by the range of styles and designs they had available for my picking. Styles ranging from Casual, Trendy, Shoulder and Crystal series, it would seriously tickle your fancy.

Having fallen in love with Animal 3D bags particularly those by Anteprima in recent years, and being a lover of dogs in particular, I gravitated immediately to the poodle face simply because it was beckoning me to pick it up and give it a smooch!!

Classy box packaging with options of both short and long chain link straps all add to the elegance and versatility of this product. Perfect option for a gift.

Since crop tops are still the rage here,  I decided to pair this newly purchased bag with another Hong Kong design fashion label " Fait A Main Paris" of which many of their designs are now being sold widely in Europe, Australia, UK, Japan, China, Philippines etc.

I particularly love the low-hi front and back of this crop top and also the weaved chain/ ribbon link collar which adds to the sophistication and uniqueness of this top. The large geometric fabric pattern on the front was certainly the selling point of this top.

So, I hope you enjoy checking out these two Hong Kong labels and do watch this space for my next post on Street Styles of New York and London Fashion Week SS 2015.

Hi everyone,

Following the recent New York and London Fashion Week shows for Spring/ Summer 2015, I can't help but be fascinated with the quirky and fun bags I've seen featured on the runway.

As we know the Sporty look is trending for Fall 2014 e.g Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu etc therefore taking this trend into Spring/ Summer 2015 particularly in accessories / bags, seems to be the call of a few designers.

1. Playful

Anya Hindmarch
Vivienne Westwood

Sophia Webster

2. Bucket Style

DKNY
3.1 Philip Lim
Louis Vuitton

3. Geometric Shape

5. Fringe

6. Bag Pack / Sporty

Some of these bags easily blend two trends together e.g Fringe & Backpack ( Jeremy Scott), or Geometric and Playful ( J JS Lee).

Do watch this space as I will be doing a post next on my very own made in Hong Kong, environmentally friendly - quirky and playful bag to trend for SS 2015.

Have Fun,
Simone xoxo
